Since Carly and I first sat down to brainstorm about Liberty and heart, we knew we wanted a site that made a difference. We have already felt it with several of our posts, particularly the raw stories. It’s had an enormous impact on us and we hope, on you the reader. Seeing the impact it’s had on the authors has been incredibly moving for us. As the author shares, they become liberated, empowered, and supported, knowing that their story was heard and understood. This is why we believe there is value in sharing our stories. It shows we are not alone; it creates connection. Sharing our lives can be uplifting and encouraging for ourselves and others.
We hope by now you see that Liberty and heart is different – that we are so much more than a wedding blog. In our mission, we state “we seek to inspire readers for their wedding day and beyond.” Because it’s about more than one wonderful day. It’s about the wonderful in every day. It’s about finding the wonderful in life’s highs and the lows.
Our purpose with Liberty and Heart is to celebrate life and love. Show more pictures of couples relaxed in their homes, families laughing together, and more of what’s in our hearts. We want to freely share what makes your hearts beat and to not be confined by the chains of perfection.
It’s time to make a shift in the photography industry, in social media, and in ourselves. So photographers… let’s get real and get to know each other. Let’s stop chasing comparison and start chasing the moments that become our favorite memories. Let’s stop talking the talk and start walking the walk.
And for clients – stop stressing about matching outfits. Instead, wear the outfit hanging up in your closet that makes you feel your best. ROCK your favorite jeans. Get out the board games and coffee and allow that real life moment to be captured. Don’t wait to do the session because you haven’t lost the weight. Do it now! Be present in the pictures. Wrap your arms around your children, instead of surrounding them with props.
We challenge all of you – photographers, vendors and clients. Get to know each other. Let’s really connect before and after the shutter clicks. Use the hashtag #ShowUstheHeart on instagram and facebook. Share with us what matters to you – comment below and on social media. We want to hear your stories and what you want to see more of on our site. We can’t wait to see your hearts!
